Friends of Freedom 2 Dance AGM Confirmed

Notice is officially given for the Friends of Freedom 2 Dance AGM which will take place on Friday 16th February 7pm at the F2D studio.

All parents of members of the studio can attend, where a review of the year will take place, which will include reports from both the Chairperson and the Treasurer.

Launched 5 years ago ‘Friends of Freedom 2 Dance’ is a  group of like minded parents who wanted to assist F2D directors Laura & Michelle with the creation of the dance school’s charitable arm. 

Consequently the group was born as a stand alone, not-for-profit, unincorporated community of people, which as a charity is affiliated to Freedom 2 Dance, but maintains its own bank account and constitution.

There are clear aims and objectives of ‘Friends of Freedom 2 Dance’ which maintains and promotes the strong community spirit associated with F2D both in the studio and beyond.

Raising funds to enhance young people’s dance experience is a priority which enables equipment, costumes and similar items to be purchased to support all Freedom 2 Dance School Members.

‘Friends of Freedom 2 Dance’ ensures fundraising activities are transparent and safeguarded by a committee of parents and volunteers who are not linked in any way to Freedom 2 Dance as a business.

Meeting once a month the group organises a yearly calendar of fundraising initiatives, events and social activities which all have one common goal - to make dance accessible to everyone. 

‘Friends of Freedom 2 Dance’ regularly provides many varied group activities for everyone to enjoy, with meetings taking place once a month.

Anyone interested in becoming a committee member or would like more information about ‘Friends of Freedom 2 Dance’, please contact Miss Laura or Miss Belle for more information.  Closing date for candidates to apply is Thursday 8th February.

Members will also have the opportunity to vote for candidates to join the committee and a ballot box will be in reception for anyone wishing to vote but who is unable to make the AGM.
