Miss Laura and Miss Belle wanted to share a few behind the scenes moments and thoughts as the Big Show approaches:
"Are we excited? Oh it’s safe to say that the build up to the Freedom2Dance ‘Dancing Through Life – A Celebration of Friendship Through Dance’ has got every single one of us gripped and so exuberant..
It’s just 10 days until we perform our ‘friendship’ masterpiece at Unity Hall, Wakefield.
We have choreography, costumes and a clear focus on celebrating all Freedom2Dance has achieved over the last 10 years.
We hope this will be a real treat for the audience to share….yet there is still so much we have to do!
Rehearsals - to our wonderful dancers
The F2D Rehearsals are for exploration so that we can all bond with each other and create a safe space for our creativity.
Showing up ready to work, is vital and we are so proud of our students who have been prompt and prepared to commit to getting it right. Â
Please do stay hydrated and organise your time before and after each rehearsal. The remaining rehearsals could be long days but what rewards you will gain!
Pre-Show
As we all get ready for opening night, dancers will get their call time for the performance. Make sure to be ready in plenty of time …..the adrenaline will surge as the show date approaches.
Warm ups are naturally essential but do remember to do any exercise that will help to keep you fit as you prepare for the show in the next few days…nothing too strenuous.
Pre-show checks, should include checking costumes, marks and props knowing everything is where it should be will give all our dancers confidence for the show.
Don’t forget to remind yourselves of all the hard work you have done and how much you have achieved.
The Grand Performance - to the audience
In any live show, the audience is very much a part of the experience. The set, the costumes, the music – everything – is working in tandem to create a magical journey for everyone..
The collaborative effort behind the production is what truly brings our show to life. Every element—be it the dances, the costumes, or the music—all things work together seamlessly to create the unique world in which the F2D story unfolds.
Every aspect, every dancer will enhance the overall atmosphere and together they will draw the audience deeper into the Freedom 2 Dance narrative.
Our F2D pupils are the audience’s guides on this journey, immersing them into the performance.
The entire F2D ensemble—both on stage and behind the scenes—has worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail of the show will serve as a vivid and engaging experience.."
