October Update from F2D

ree

So many exciting things have been happening this month – from huge success at competitions through to our very own F2D Disco Ducks and much, much more.

It’s On With The Show

Naturally we are all getting very excited about our 10 year anniversary show in December with rehearsals coming along nicely and everyone raring to go for the gala event on Sunday 14th December at Unity Hall, Wakefield.

There are mandatory rehearsals on the following dates:

  • Technical Rehearsal: Wednesday 10th December – from 4:30pm

  • Dress Rehearsal: Thursday 11th December – from 4:30pm

As we want the performance to run smoothly, dancers must be available on both of these dates with rehearsals taking place at Unity Hall Wakefield

Friends of Freedom2Dance Have Done It Again!!

Congratulations to Emily B, who won £117 in the Friends of Freedom 2 Dance Monthly Draw in September! October was a rollover, so join for just £2 a month for your chance to win this November.

Thank you to everyone supporting Friends of Freedom 2 Dance—your contributions recently helped fund £1,800 in show costumes for 120 dancers.  This support helps to make performances in the show more accessible for all who want to join in the fun of our 10 Year Celebrations.

Halloween Magic at This Green Moon with F2D’s Little Shop of Shadows

The Halloween festivities brought an exciting challenge for some of our Senior Dancers, as they were once again invited to perform at This Green Moon. This opportunity was not only a testament to their talent but also a chance to experience the realities of working within the professional dance industry.

Despite facing last-minute changes to the performance space, unpredictable weather conditions, and a few unexpected surprises during the live show, our dancers displayed exemplary professionalism and teamwork throughout. Such resilience and adaptability are hallmarks of accomplished performers, and our team certainly rose to the occasion.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Brooke, Edie, Alba, Evie, Ava, Ella T, Miss Lauren and Miss Belle for their outstanding commitment and performance.

Additionally, but definitely not lastly, a special mention goes to Dance Dad Paul, who stepped in at a crucial moment to control the floating spider and moth, adding a memorable touch to the event.

Our sincere thanks also go to Paul from #ThisGreenMoon for providing this fantastic opportunity. The dancers represented Freedom 2 Dance wonderfully and truly made us all proud.
