At Freedom 2 Dance, we believe dance has the power to do so much more than teach steps, technique or routines. It can build confidence, create friendships, develop resilience and give every dancer a place where they feel truly valued.
Since opening our doors, our mission has been to create a welcoming community where children and adults can grow, learn and become the very best version of themselves. Of course, we are proud to teach great dance, but what matters most to us is the kind of environment our dancers step into each week.
Everything we do is guided by four core values: belonging, kindness and respect, progress over perfection, and excellence in teaching. These values shape our classes, our teaching and the community we are so proud to share.
Belonging: every dancer has a place here
For us, belonging means every dancer feels welcomed, included and valued from the moment they walk through the door. Whether it is their very first class or they have danced with us for years, we want every child to know they are an important part of our dance family.
When children feel they belong, they are more likely to try new things, make friends, express themselves and grow in confidence. That is why belonging is not just one of our values; it is at the heart of everything we do.
Kindness and respect: great dancers are kind people first
Dance is a team experience. Every class gives dancers the chance to support one another, celebrate each other’s successes and learn how to treat everyone with kindness and respect, both inside and outside the studio.
We encourage our dancers to lift each other up, listen carefully, work together and recognise that everyone’s journey is different. A positive, encouraging environment helps every dancer grow, learn and thrive together.
Progress over perfection: celebrating every step forward
At Freedom 2 Dance, we celebrate progress, not perfection. Every child learns at their own pace, and confidence grows through encouragement, patience and practice rather than comparison.
We celebrate the small wins, the hard work, the resilience and the determination to keep going. Whether a dancer masters a new step, performs on stage for the first time or simply finds the courage to try again, every step forward is worth recognising.
Excellence in teaching: inspiring confident dancers
We are committed to providing high-quality dance education led by passionate, knowledgeable and qualified teachers. Our classes are designed to help dancers develop strong technique, confidence and performance skills in a positive and supportive environment.
